Premordial Home is an exhibition about the fragile nature of the North and the necessity of cyclical processes for life itself. In nature, I find myself contemplating endings and renewal, reflecting on change as a force present in all existence. The living world appears as a vast roots which network extends everywhere. Human beings cannot exist apart from it, for our bodies are always intertwined with a changing environment.
Ecosystems embody both diversity and interaction among different forms of life, emphasizing the importance of coexistence and interdependence. Nature is always changing, but the reasons for that change and the speed at which it occurs are questions that call for our attention and reflection.
The memory of this landscape is inscribed upon the maps of my body, its contours reaching from eternity into the present moment. I recognize myself in the great waters resting upon the mountains. I am in the meandering river and its shifting channels. I am reborn in the seedlings of the forest, hollowed within decaying wood, and asleep in the deep eye of the bog. In the embrace of nature’s cyclical erosion, all living beings and I have been carved from the same waters.
