Journey to the Heart of the Ancient Forest is a tribute to Finland's old-growth forests. Its themes explore the impact of clear-cut logging on natural environments and the importance of our relationship with nature.

In the story, trees and their life cycle take center stage as the sustaining force of the forest, making life possible for all its inhabitants, great and small. The book's visual language highlights the distinctive features of Finnish nature. The painterly illustrations express the aesthetics and mysticism associated with our natural world, portraying the forest itself as a living, moving presence. Through both words and images, the book emphasizes the profound effects that being in the forest can have on both body and mind.

In Journey to the Heart of the Ancient Forest, Fox and his new friend Ölli the Owl discover a shared concern: the trees along the edge of the forest have begun to disappear. The companions set out to find out whether their home forest can still be saved. Their journey leads them to encounters with various forest creatures and ultimately deep into the heart of the forest, where they discover answers to the questions that have been troubling them.

The illustrations are created with acrylics, gouache nad pencils on paper.

Matka Ikimetsän sydämeen-kirja on kunnianosoitus vanhoille suomalaisille metsille. Sen teemat käsittelevät avohakkuiden vaikutusta luonnonympäristöön ja luontosuhteen merkitystä. Tarinassa puut ja niiden kiertokulku on nostettu keskiöön metsää ylläpitävänä voimana, joka mahdollistaa elämän kaikille sen asukkaille, pienille ja suurille. Kirjan visuaalinen muotokieli tuo esille Suomen luonnon erityispiirteitä. Kuvitus maalausjäljessä ilmentää luontoomme liittyvää estetiikka ja mystiikka, jossa metsä itsessään on elävä ja liikkuu. Kirjan teema korostaa metsässä olemisen vaikutusta kehoon ja mieleen saakka, kuvin ja sanoin. 

Matka Ikimetsän sydämeen-kirjassa Kettu ja hänen uusi ystävänsä Ölli Yökkönen huomaavat yhteisen huolenaiheen: puut metsän laidalla ovat alkaneet kadota. Kumppanukset lähtevät selvittämään onko heidän kotimetsä vielä pelastettavissa. Heidän matkansa johtaa kohtaamisiin erilaisten metsän asukkaiden kanssa ja tie vie lopulta syvälle metsän keskukseen, jossa he löytävät vastauksia heidän mieltä askarruttaviin kysymyksiin.

Kuvitukset on toteutettu akryyleillä, gouacheilla ja värikynillä paperille.
